Due to declining weather conditions, the Altoona Library will be closing at 5pm today, March 18.

The program that was scheduled for tonight Hand in motion. March 18, 2013 6-7 has been cancelled due to the weather. We will be rescheduling the program at a later date.

Children from Story Hour (ages 3-6) enjoyed a visit from BUDDY BEAR and an entertaining reading of BUDDY BEAR AND THE MERRY GO ROUND MYSTERYby the author & illustrator Cory Geishauser at the Altoona Area Public Library on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. The picture-book mystery revolves around the beautiful DelGrosso Park carousel. The always entertaining Cory (alias CORBEN GEIS) sold and autographed copies of BUDDY BEAR for interested families. Proceeds were donated to the library.

Book Lovers join host, Rick Opdyke for "Blind Date Night” at the Altoona Area Public Library. Bring 3 of your favorite books (or titles) to the Board Room on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 6:00 pm. Enjoy refreshments and meet some new READS and tell us what you like about your favorite books and writers.

We invite you to enjoy a visually beautiful performance by the very talented group Hand in Motion. All ages will be enchanted as they use sign language to interpret music. Join us on Monday, March 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the library theater.
