The Altoona Area Public Library is offering
a new program for children ages 12 months to 24 months. Mother Goose on the Loose is an interactive program highlighting traditional nursery rhymes, songs, music, and rhythm. This program is designed as a one-on-one lap-sit program for the child and caregiver to enjoy together. Classes are held on Mondays at 10am or Wednesdays at 10am. Registration begins on Monday, November 23, 2009. Please call the library at 946-0417 ext 123 to register for this FREE program. Classes will begin on November 30, 2009.
The Altoona Area Public Library will begin enrolling
children ages 3-6 years old for the Story Hour on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Children and families will enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes. Story Time is designed to incorporate and emphasize the Pennsylvania Learning Standards for Early Childhood as they apply to pre-kindergarten children. The club will meet on Tuesdays at 10am or 1:30pm, and Wednesday at 1:30pm. Please call the library at 946-0417 ext 123 to register for this FREE program. Classes will begin on December 1, 2009.
Calling all toddlers!
The Altoona Area Public Library will begin enrolling children ages 2 to 3 years old for Toddler Time on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Children and families will enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes. Toddler Time is designed to incorporate and emphasize the Pennsylvania Learning Standards for Early Childhood as they apply to infants and toddlers. Classes are held on Thursdays at 10am or 11:30am. Children of all ages are welcome
to join the Great Commissions Performing Arts Club in a special performance of Jan Brett’s The Mitten on Monday, December 14th at 11:30am. The program is FREE.
Celebrate “Read a New Book Month”
at the Altoona Area Public Library on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at either 11am or 1:30pm. Children in grades K – 6 are invited to the FREE program to get a taste for all kinds of the newest children’s books, just in time to ring in the New Year!
