Bring your littlest music lover to sing, play and dance at the Playground Hijinks Musical Event on Thursday June 15 at 6pm in our Youth Room. This program is geared for ages six and under along with caregiver.

“Talk About a Good Book” Discussion Group, held every 2nd Monday of the Month will take place on June 12th at 6:45pm in the Alumni Room at the Altoona Area Public Library. June’s selection is “Commonwealth” by Ann Patchett.

The Altoona Area Public Library continues to offer Beginner & Intermediate Sign Language Classes. These classes are 10 week sessions and are free. Registration is required. Call 946-0417 ext 125 to find out when the next class starts. The intermediate classes do have a Beginner class prerequisite.

Join us June 8th for two sessions concerning advanced directives, presented by SouthernCare Hospice Services. Sessions will include a review of living wills, medical power of attorneys, Code status, and POLST forms. These will be held at 10:00am and 5:30pm in the library theater. There is no fee for these events.

Children ages 6-12 are invited to experiment with air to understand how something that is invisible can have visible effects.  Families will show the power of moving air by making and manipulating wind at our new Leap Into Science program on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 6-7pm.
